We’re privileged to have an outstanding mentor team lining up for Wellington Startup Weekend. Here’s a list of mentors we have confirmed so far.

Alan founded Genratec, an Integral Leadership Development and Generative Coaching company. Genratec has developed its own proprietary methodology, a platform chosen by over 2600 individuals, leaders, celebrities, entrepreneurs, business owners & others in over 7 countries to develop their capacity for professional performance. He has founded/co-founded several other businesses, including generating over a $1.2M profit for investors within the first year of business.

Stefan is keenly involved in Startup Weekend New Zealand, bringing a Ph.D in Artificial Intelligence to the table, not to forget extensive experience in building transactional web-based businesses.  Stefan founded Wellington tech investment fund WebFund to help leverage his own experience to help take web-based Kiwi startups to the world. He is one of the founding team behind DIYFather.com, and teaches at a local community college. He also admits to producing his own music and videos.

Amanda Santos

She describes herself as a “turnaround” chief executive for companies that demands significant business/revenue growth. Amanda is a passionate, energetic facilitator of change and accelerator of sales with extensive sales and marketing experience. She backs several Wellington startups as an advisor and is a key player in the early stage business community, bringing her experience consulting to a number of private, SME and start-ups.

One of Wellington’s well-known startup entrepreneurs Josh has a passion for business, technology and social change. He is co-founder of BuckyBox, a recent startup getting international press already and was one of the founders of Enspiral, a local co-working startup consultancy. His background is in web programming (rails, php) but claims social change is his real passion, spending a lot of his time trying to change the world for the better.

John is the co-founder of *experience, Wellington’s leading digital design outfit. His focus is on leading the creative development of digital solutions, and he runs the coffee machine there too. He has extensive experience in brand, conceptual frameworks, user experience  design and strategy.

Vanessa  is a business mentor from the Canterbury plains, and was inetrgal in running Christchurch Startup Weekend.  She is a former ventures partner at Christchurch’s business incubator PowerHouse and still works one on one with emerging businesses in her company Accelerate Business.  She knows everything from business models to branding to market research.

Dave is part of the founding fabric of the Wellington startup community as the founder of Ponoko, and advisor to 77 Pieces. He sits on the board for the MBA Programme at Victoria University and he talks the real deal whenever asked. Dave is brutally honest about what it takes to build a start-up and take it global, and he is still living it too.
